Poached or poached eggs recipe with plastic wrap

Today I have a really special and flavorful recipe on the recipe blog: the poached egg. This cooking method, also known as heated egg, consists of cooking the outside of the egg (the white) while the yolk remains liquid.

The egg has many health benefits. It is an excellent source of protein, vitamins like D and B12, and minerals like iron and zinc. Additionally, eggs contain choline, an essential nutrient for the brain. Poaching the egg preserves these nutrients, giving you a healthy and nutritious option.

The heated egg may seem complicated, but with some practice and following the detailed instructions that I will provide below, you will be able to master this technique without any problem.

Perfect for a weekend breakfast, brunch with friends, or as an elegant touch on a salad, poached eggs can be the crowning joy of any meal.

How to make poached eggs with film

  1. We take 2 glasses and cut two pieces of plastic wrap that fit inside the glass. They have to stick out a bit. That is where we will put the eggs. We heat a pot with water.
  2. We take the olive oil and paint the film paper a little. This step is important as it will help prevent the egg from getting stuck to the plastic wrap.
  3. Let's break the eggs and put each one in one of the glasses. Here we must watch so that the eggs do not break.
  4. We add a little salt and close the plastic wrap by tying a knot with kitchen twine.
  5. We take the tied bags with the eggs inside and put them in the boiling water for about 4-6 minutes. During that time we prepare a container with cold water.
  6. After these times we put the eggs surrounded by the film into cold water. This step is very important since it serves to stop the cooking of the eggs and obtain exquisite heated eggs.
  7. All that's left to do is open the plastic wrap and use the poached eggs to prepare salads, pastas... a lot of different dishes!

I started cosmorecipes in 2020 during the time we were cooped up at home. Having so much free time I spent a lot of time in the kitchen trying different dishes. So I decided to mix cooking with my other great passion: web programming. That's why I decided to open this blog where I post the different recipes that I'm cooking.
