How to make white rice step by step

  1. First, heat a little olive oil in a saucepan.
  2. Add the peeled garlic and sauté over medium heat until slightly golden.
  3. Add the bomba rice to the casserole (it can be another type of rice but I always recommend bomba) and stir it well so that it soaks up the oil and garlic and takes on flavor.
  4. We add 2 cups of water to the pot, add salt to taste and stir a little. If we want to give a more special touch to the rice, we can also add a few strands of saffron.
  5. Cook the rice over medium-high heat for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally so it doesn't get stuck. If we see that it runs out of water before it is done, we can add one more cup of water. It is very important that the rice does not run out of water as it can burn and stick to the bottom of the pot.
  6. When the rice is done and has absorbed the water, we remove it from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. If we are sick, it is advisable to leave it with a little water, since it will be good for our stomach. On the other hand, if we want to accompany some other dish, for example, vegetables, meat or fish, then I recommend waiting until all the water has been removed.

I started cosmorecipes in 2020 during the time we were cooped up at home. Having so much free time I spent a lot of time in the kitchen trying different dishes. So I decided to mix cooking with my other great passion: web programming. That's why I decided to open this blog where I post the different recipes that I'm cooking.
