homemade lemonade with mint

Recipe for natural lemonade with mint

When summer comes, the Homemade lemonade It is a recipe that is always in my fridge.

It is a very healthy way of cool down during hot summer days , since in addition to being very cool we provides a large amount of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) which is essential for the proper functioning of our body.

It is essential to use a good blender to get a homogeneous mixture. I have used a Taurus brand blender ( see more information on Amazon ), but if you already have one at home, it will surely work.

Apart from the ingredients in this recipe, you can try adding some extra ones that will give our homemade lemonade a great touch.

I personally recommend adding a few mint leaves or a little ginger powder making sure not to overdo it as the ginger can crush if we add too much.

How to make homemade lemonade for summer

  1. Peel the lemons trying to remove all the white part of the lemon segments since this area of the lemon tends to be bitter. We try to get as many seeds as we can.
  2. We add the lemon pieces to the blender and add 200 milliliters of water (we will add the remaining 200 later). We blend everything with the blender until it becomes a paste.
  3. At that point. We can optionally strain the juice to remove any pieces of skin and seeds that may remain. I personally do not usually strain lemon juice since the pulp contains most of the lemon's properties.
  4. Add the 50 grams of sugar. If you really like sweet you can add more. If you want to prepare a lemonade without sugar you can add honey or agave syrup. We add the ice cubes and stir everything with the blender at maximum power.
  5. We add the remaining 200 milliliters of water and beat everything again until there is a homogeneous mixture and taste. If it is too thick we can add a little more water and if it is too acidic we can add a little more sugar. I like it to be like a slush to drink fresh.
  6. Chop the mint or mint leaves and add it with the rest of the ingredients. We let it rest for a few minutes.
  7. Now all that's left to do is serve it in glasses and refresh yourself with a good, cold homemade lemonade! If you have leftovers, you can store it in a closed container for up to 3 days.

I started cosmorecipes in 2020 during the time we were cooped up at home. Having so much free time I spent a lot of time in the kitchen trying different dishes. So I decided to mix cooking with my other great passion: web programming. That's why I decided to open this blog where I post the different recipes that I'm cooking.
